PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing paper winding device that has a simple structure, certainly winds large printing paper, and facilitate taking out the printing paper from the device. SOLUTION: The winding device comprises a rotatable shaft 21 and an elastic cylindrical member 32 that mounts an engaging projection 33 to the outer peripheral wall of the shaft 21, is arranged with a constant clearance, has axially groove-like notches. A small-diameter shaft 35 having a groove 35c on its outer periphery is arranged axially in the notches of the cylindrical member 32, the engaging projection 33 is inserted into or removed from the groove 35c of the small-diameter shaft 35 by reciprocating axial movement of the small-diameter shaft 35, and the shaft 35 is radially taken out or inserted in relation to the cylindrical member 32. Thus, outer dimension of the cylindrical member 32 is varied, and the printing paper mounted on the member 32 can be removed.
