PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support a back plate for supporting a cushion body of a chair by a support frame so that it can be deflected. SOLUTION: In the chair where a back plate 2 that is made of such a hard, elastic material as a synthetic resin is mounted to the front of a support frame 1 being erected from the rear part of a seat and a cushion body 14 is mounted to the front of the back plate 2, a packing and holding piece 10 with a fitting groove 10a in left and right directions being open upward in an arc shape exceeding a semicircle is allowed to project at one or a plurality of appropriate locations in the up/down directions of the support frame 1 as the mounting means to the support frame 1 of the back plate 2, and an inflation part 12 in a short shaft shape is provided in left/right directions being pressed and fitted to the fitting groove 10a from an upper portion is provided at a position corresponding to the packing and holding piece 10 in the back plate 2.
