PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjuster capable of preventing the fracture due to permanent set in fatigue and avoiding a loss in waist size regulating functions without deteriorating the fitness of trousers, or the like, even when the adjuster is attached so as not to expose a slider. SOLUTION: This adjuster comprises the slider (1) composed of a mounting substrate (3) mounted on a waistband (W1) on the outside with a mounting part having the flexibility, a crowned substrate (2) capable of joining to the mounting substrate (3) and ensuring a tunnellike space for inserting and passing a guide rail base band (7) therethrough, an engaging unit (4) arranged in the tunnellike space and a pushing and moving piece (5) for operating the engaging unit (4) which is provided with tapered surfaces (46a) pushed up so as to shake with a pivot shaft (43) as the center by pushing operations of the pushing and moving piece (5) and formed on an undersurface part (42). An engaging pawl (44) spring-urged with elastic tongue pieces (24) is engaged with a rail protruding ridge (71) of the guide rail base band (7) inserted and passed through an inserting and passing gap of the guide rail base band (7) having an inlet (i) and an outlet (j) formed between a mounting bottom (31) and the engaging unit (4), and the engagement is released by operating the pushing and moving piece (5) against the spring-urging.
