PURPOSE: A braking distance measuring device of an escalator is provided to safely measure braking distance of the escalator with a measuring person not getting on the escalator, thereby preventing accidents. CONSTITUTION: A braking distance measuring apparatus(20) of an escalator includes a tachometer(11) for detecting a braking distance, a supporting bracket(12) closely attaching the tachometer onto the inner surface of a skirt guard, and a fixing block(14) installed on the upper surface of a step tread for fixing the support bracket, so that the braking distance measuring apparatus is disposed at the step tread of the escalator when measuring the braking distance of the escalator by suddenly stopping the escalator.
