PURPOSE:To keep safety even upon the occurrence of malfunction in a mechanism for selecting therapeutic light by laying an optical system for irradiating a treated eye with the first therapeutic light as well as another optical system for irradiating the eye with the second therapeutic light via an optical element. CONSTITUTION:An irradiation laser selector switch 50 is operated to select laser emitted according to a treatment portion. Also, a microcomputer 51 causes a prism 7 and a dichroic mirror 36 to move according to the type of irradiated laser. In response to the signal of the selected laser, the microcomputer 51 drives a motor 55, thereby moving the mirror 36. This mirror 36 comes to be laid within the optical path of a binocular stereomicroscopic optical system, when semiconductor laser is selected. Furthermore, the mirror 36 retreats from the optical path, due to the selection of YAG laser. The microcomputer 51 makes judgement as to whether the mirror 36 is at the predetermined position or not, and prohibits laser emission, when the mirror 36 is not at the predetermined position. |
