PURPOSE:To obtain a resin improved in refractive index, transparency and strength by subjecting a specified pyridine derivative and a dithiol to hydrogen transfer polymerization. CONSTITUTION:A diaminopyridine of formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H, an aliphatic group or an aromatic group) is reacted with an (alpha-substituted) acryloyl halide of formula II (wherein R<3> is R<1>; and X is halogen) in the presence of an acid binder in a solvent to obtain a pyridine derivative of formula III. This derivative and an equimolar amount of a dithiol of formula IV (wherein R<4> is an aliphatic group or an aromatic group) are subjected to hydrogen transfer polymerization at 50-100 deg.C for 10min to 100hr in an aprotic solvent to obtain a high-refractive-index resin comprising a polyaddition product comprising repeating units of formula V (wherein n is 500-5000). |
