PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bell-and-spigot pipe joint easily and to quickly insert one end of a pipe therein into a sealed and pull-out-prevention state and facilitating the assembling of an elastic seal ring. SOLUTION: This pipe joint body 1 has inner/outer cylinder bodies 5, 6 in an axial one end. The inner cylinder body 5 is integrally formed with the joint body 1, while the outer cylinder body 6 is formed into a separate body from the joint body and detachably screwed and connected into the joint body 1 as forming a pipe insertion clearance 12 in a space toward the outer circumference of the inner cylinder body 5. Before screwing the outer cylinder body 6 therein, an elastic seal ring 2 being in close contact with the internal circumferential face of a pipe P to be inserted in the pipe insertion clearance 12 is fitted around the outer circumference of the inner cylinder body 5. A lock ring 3 freely deformed into a diameter-expanded/contracted state and having a bite type tooth 17 biting the outer circumference of the pipe is internally fitted in the outer cylinder body 6. When the inserted pipe P moves in the detaching direction, an outward-narrowing tapered pressure face 19 applying the contracting force to the lock ring 3 is formed in the internal circumferential face of the outer cylinder body 6.
