PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a two-component developer having high durability. SOLUTION: When toner particles containing at least a bonding resin, a colorant and a quaternary ammonium salt are mixed with a resin coated carrier having 20-500μm particle diameter to produce the objective developer, the toner particles are mixed with part of the carrier to prepare a preliminary mixture and then this mixture is mixed with the remaining carrier.
