PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the control method of a brushless DC motor that changes operation conditions by requirement torque for improving the total efficiency of the motor. SOLUTION: In the control method of a brushless DC motor, that controls the stator current of a d-axis constituent for allowing the magnetic pole positions of a stator and a rotor to coincide each other and the stator current of a q-axis constituent for generating magnetic force for rotating the rotor, and controls the rotation of the rotor, it is determined whether requirement torque being required for the motor is within a first requirement torque range where the motor can be driven under the maximum efficiency operation current conditions in that the stator current is minimized, a second requirement torque range where the requirement torque exceeds the output maximum torque of the motor, or a middle requirement torque range where the requirement torque is between the first and second requirement torque ranges. According to the determination, each of current conditions is set. |
