SYSTEM FOR FINDING OUT AND SUPERVISING ACTIVE TOPOLOGY AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain optimum frame transfer in a dual counter rotating ring(DCRR) and to quickly replace a faulty network component on the occurrence of the failure. SOLUTION: A control system where payload data are transferred to a DCRR network having 2 nodes or more has in each of its nodes a topology learning entity that monitors each link in the DCRR and finds out an active topology, transmits changes in the topology to other nodes, informs a frame transfer process and a learning process about the topology so as to allow switching to a redundant resource on the detection of a failure to be enabled when the failure of the network component is detected. The frame transfer process selects the shortest path route between the source of the DCRR and a destination node and transfers a frame to the destination node via the shortest path route. The address learning process checks a source MAC address in the individual received frames to learn the shortest path route as to the individual MAC addresses.
