PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phase change type optical recording medium having high sensitivity and enhanced durability without increasing the thickness of the reflecting layer and capable of increasing repetitive overwriting frequency. SOLUTION: A 1st dielectric layer 2, a recording layer 3, a 2nd dielectric layer 4 and a reflecting and heat releasing layer 5 are successively laminated on a substrate 1 to obtain the objective optical information recording medium 10 in which information is recorded and erased by the change of the arrangement of atoms constituting the recording layer 3 by irradiation with light. The reflecting and heat releasing layer 5 is an alloy layer based on Ag and containing at least one element selected from Al, Au, Cu, Co, Ni, Ti, V, Mo, Mn, Pt, Si, Nb, Fe, Ta, Hf, Ga, Pd, Bi, In, W and Zr. |
