PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for portable telephone for surely performing call operation with a simple operation to a desired party among a small parties registered beforehand, and to provide portable telephone equipment to be controlled by the control method. SOLUTION: When a key operating part is pushed, it is discriminated whether this key is a key, to which a one-action dial is registered beforehand, or not (step 3). When the pushed key is discriminated as the key to which the one- action dial is previously registered, the measurement of time is started from pushing by a timer (step 6). After the lapse of fixed time T1 with pushing kept, it is discriminated as operation for instructing the one-action dial on the basis of so-called long push, and the telephone number of the one-action dial previously registered to the pushed key is displayed on a display (step 8). Afterwards, after the lapse of further fixed time T2 while pushing the key (step 9), a call is originated by discriminating that it is operation for indicating the call addressing the telephone number displayed on the display and speaking is executed by response of the opposite party (step 10).
