PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transmission from being repeated, when the opposite party is a telephone set by storing RBT and BT patterns obtained by performing a communication operation. SOLUTION: This facsimile machine, provided with a function storing a signal from an exchange, has a means 4 for storing a ring back tone(RBT) from the exchange, the means 4 storing a busy tone(BT) from the exchange and a control means 1 for performing processing according with the patterns of the stored ring back tone and busy tone.
