PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably acquire information added to specimen containers and to simplify works associated with the acquisition. SOLUTION: This specimen container comprises both a container main body 32 with a bottom to house a specimen and a tag arranged on the container main body 32. The tag is provided with a chip and an antenna connected to the chip. In this case, data for specifying a specimen in each container main body 32 and specifying an inspecting method is written in the memory of the tag arranged on the container main body 32. Therefore, it is possible to read the data reliably even if a specimen adheres to the tag in association with dispensation by a dispenser. The tag does not exfoliate even if water adheres to the tag. In addition, it is possible to read the data reliably even if the tag is stained with water.
