PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve impact resistance for allowing this recording medium mounting device to resist any impact from the outside part. SOLUTION: A holder/slider deformation preventing mechanism 42 is composed of a holder/slider deformation preventing member 56 supported by a plane part 12a of a disk holder 12 so as to be rotatable and a torsion spring 58 to be energized so that the holder/slider deformation preventing member 56 can be held in a vertical state. Also, the holder/slider deformation preventing member 56 is held in a vertical state when a disk cartridge 20 is not inserted into the disk holder 12. Thus, when the disk cartridge 20 is not inserted, the load of dropping during its carriage can be supported by the holder/slider deformation preventing member 56, and the impact resistance of the plane part 12a of the disk holder 12 and the slider 13 can be improved by the holder/slider deformation preventing member 56.
