SOLUTION: At the time of performing error correction coding and recording by a block unit to a recording medium 1 for which a track is divided into plural blocks and the respective blocks are constituted of a prescribed sector, prescribed information is stored in a memory 16 by the block unit, the information of the block unit is divided into plural information units S smaller than the block unit, the information of the information unit S and the block unit is error correction coded and the coded information of the block unit is recorded in the block on the recording medium 1.
