摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the stability of magneto-optical recording characteristics, the increase of the C-N ratio and the improvement of reproducing power margin in the case of a combination of magnetic ultra-resolution reproduction and the use of violaceous laser light or a combination of magnetic ultra-resolution reproduction and the use of a field lens having a numerical aperture N.A. >=0.7. SOLUTION: The magneto-optical recording medium has at least a reproducing layer 1, a recording layer 3 and a heat controlling layer 4 and attains magnetic ultra-resolution reproduction with violaceous laser light, that is, laser light of about 350-450 nm wavelength. The heat controlling layer 4 comprises one or more of metallic layers of Al, Ag, Au, Cu and an alloy containing one or more of these metals and has 30-100 nm thickness.
