PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the fixing device which can be made low-cost by decreasing the number of arranged thermistors while securing high safety. SOLUTION: The this device is equipped with a fixing roller 28, a pressure roller 30 which rolls on the fixing roller 28 with specific pressure, a heat roller 34 which is arranged separately from the fixing roller 28, a fixing belt 36 which is extended endlessly between the heat roller 34 and fixing roller 28, and a heating means 32 which is built in the heat roller 34 and heats the fixing belt 36 to heat unfixed toner on a sheet passing through the rolling contact part between the fixing roller 28 and pressure roller 30 and fixes the unfixed toner on the sheet by passing the sheet carrying the unfixed toner on the surface through the rolling contact part along one direction, and this device is equipped with a temperature measuring means 80 which measures the temperature of the part of the fixing belt 36 positioned at the outer periphery of the heat roller 34 and a control means 86 which controls the heat generation of the heating means 32 according to temperature information from the temperature measuring means 80 to hold the fixing belt 36 at specific temperature corresponding to an operation mode. |
