METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PREVENTING CLOGGING OF SLAG OUTLET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a melting plant stably by hitting a slag layer with a slag lance to drop solidified slag while crushing thereby keeping a wide opening at a slag outlet. SOLUTION: In a method for inserting a slag lance 15 through the slag outlet of a melting furnace 17 discharging mineral matter such as ash, as slag under high temperature melting state and moving the slag lance 15 up and down, position of the slag lance 15 penetrating through the slag outlet is altered to increase the area at the opening 18a of the slag outlet as compared with the cross-sectional area of the slag lance thus preventing the slag outlet from being clogged.
