PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent of generation of abnormalities of a rotating machine such as degradation of the insulation performance in the rotating machine caused by ingress of foreign matter from the outside of the rotating machine and degradation of the cooling performance. SOLUTION: In the self-action air-cooled rotating machine to feed the cooling air in the rotating machine by the effect of a fan or the like directly mounted on a rotary shaft in the rotating machine, at least two-stage structure air shut- off parts 17 and an air chamber 19 therebetween are provided in order to discharge the air in the rotating machine from a gap between the air shut-off part 17 and the rotary shaft 11, preferably, an air introducing duct 18 is provided between the air chamber and an outlet side part of the fan, and a vent 20 with the air cleaning function is provided on a fixed outer wall of an inlet side part of the fan to feed the clean air into the rotating machine.
