<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lane departure preventing system by which a departure from a lane is evaded when an AHS vehicle is traveled on a road in the case of a bad weather such as rain or snow or is traveled in a part being dangerous for comparatively high speed traveling such as a curve. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a vehicle having a its own vehicle position detecting sensor, a its own vehicle state detecting sensor for detecting a traveling speed, an on-vehicle processor for processing information from each detecting sensor, a vehicle controller for controlling a steering angle and an alarm device. The system is also provided with a plurality of position detecting assist units, a road surface situation detecting unit, a road side database for storing road linear information, a road side processor and a communication equipment between the road and the vehicle. A prescribed area till the dangerous part such as a curve being dangerous for high speed traveling is made to be a service area, a service-in position detecting assist unit is arranged at a position which is separated from the entrance of the dangerous part by prescribed distance and a service-out position detecting assist unit is arranged near the entrance of the dangerous part. Road surface information processed by the road side processor, a self vehicle position and the traveling speed are integrated, the processing of the lane departure is judged and, then, control is executed as necessary.</p> |
