PWM SIGNAL GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PWM signal generator that can increase setting resolution of an output value without changing a frequency of an operating clock and degrading an output responsiveness. SOLUTION: An output object value in (n+p) bits where the setting is increased by p-bits is divided into high-order n-bits and low-order p-bits, the output object high-order n-bits are compared with the low-order n-bit count of an (n+p)-bit counter that is counted by each period of the operating clock and the output object-order n-bits are compared with the high-order p-bit count of the (n+p)-bit counter and a PWM signal is generated on the basis of the two comparison results.
