THIN-FILM MAGNETIC WRITING HEAD, AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic writing head having a low laminated layer height. SOLUTION: This magnetic head is provided with a first pole having a bulged rear gap part and a bulged writing gap part both having smooth and flat upper surfaces, and an insulating layer surrounding both gaps, and having a smooth and flat upper surfaces positioned in the same plane as that for both gap upper surfaces. The flat insulating layer provides an excellent surface for coil arrangement, and the coil is arranged very accurately and with good controllability.
