PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a card usable in an automatic vending machine by additionally providing the automatic vending machine with a card reader-writer for a point card or a prepaid card without applying special change to the front door of the automatic vending machine. SOLUTION: The card reader-writer 1 whose main body 1a is attached to a case 2 is overlapped on and connected integrally with the front of a paper money identifying device 9 mounted on the automatic vending machine, a paper money insertion slot 3c communicating with a paper money insertion slot 9b-1 opened on the front cover 9b of the paper money identifying device at the back of a card insertion slot 3a is also opened on the front cover 3 provided on the front of the upper part of the case of the card reader-writer in a row with the card insertion slot 3a communicating with the main body of the card reader-writer, and the cover 3 is made to face a window hole opened on the front door of the automatic vending machine and subsequently attached to a prescribed position (mounting position of paper money identifying device) set on the rear face side of the front door together with the paper money identifying device.
