PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component with which the fixation of respective optical elements are surely executed and which are excellent in optical characteristics and are excellent in mass productivity, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: This optical component is composed of polarizers 2e' and 2f', a Faraday rotator 3a and substrates 1c, 1d, 1e and 1f. At least two surfaces exclusive of the respective optical surfaces of the polarizers 2e' and 2f' and the Faraday rotator 3a are fixed to the substrates 1c, 1d, 1e and 1f and the substrates 1c, 1d, 1e and 1f are weldable magnets.
