PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of low work efficiency and high probability of error concerning a method for converting numerical data to bar code data and sending them to a portable terminal device with light emitting elements installed on respective keys on a key input device. SOLUTION: Concerning the key input device provided with the pen type portable terminal device for inputting a numerical value to a bar code reader part, a detecting mechanism for detecting that the key input device is pressed by the said pen type portable terminal, an LCD display device for displaying a pressed key on the key input device and a mechanism for sending data as bar code data based on flickering of light from the light emitting element located in the Enter key on the key input device, when the Enter key provided on the key input device is pressed, bar codes corresponding to numeral keys pressed up to the moment are read by the pen type portable terminal device with bar code reader. |
