PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent device including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an organic luminescent film between the electrodes, which is easy to manufacture and is stabilized in its characteristic. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent device A comprises a positive electrode 2, a negative electrode 4, and an organic luminescent film 3 between the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 4. The light emission is performed by applying drive voltage including an alternative component from light emission drive power PW1 between both electrodes (the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 3) of an organic electroluminescent device being single layer typed organic luminescent film which is a single layer construction made of a mixture of at least organic luminescent material and organic charge transportation material.
