PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure identifying system for suppressing any unnecessary failure announcement based on the judgment of the contents of failures. SOLUTION: This failure identification system is provided with a job monitoring part for monitoring the inputted situation of a job inputted to this system, and for generating and storing job identification information and a system message log, a failure monitoring part for monitoring the occurrence of any failure based on the monitored output of the job monitoring part and the system message log, a failure analyzing part for judging whether or not it is necessary to announce the occurrence of failure from a failure occurrence signal from the failure monitoring part and the job identification information, and a failure announcing part for announcing the failure to a system manager at the time of receiving the instruction of 'the necessity of announcement' from the failure analyzing part. When the job identification information on the occurrence of failure is the automatically executed job, 'the necessity of announcement' is instructed to the failure announcing part.
