PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily estimate a performance even in the early stage of system design and further to successively reflect the estimate of the performance with system design change contents. SOLUTION: In addition to a data flow diaphragm and a record specification definition prepared by a system design supporting tool, the processing pattern of information expressing the processing summary of each of processes contained in this data flow diaphragm and the number of records of data storage to be handled by the relevant process are inputted. Besides, a calculation rule for estimating the execution time of each of processing patterns is inputted. On the basis of these entries, the predictive execution time of each of processes is calculated and outputted. Besides, the predictive execution time is assigned for each of processing days and processing time zones and collated with the performance information of hardware so that advice information for hardware selection can be outputted.
