PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with one signal cable as the signal cable used for an image display device which can accept two kinds of video signals. SOLUTION: The signal cable 11 of this invention has a male connector (DVI-I connector 3a) for both digital and analog signals on one end side of a cable main body part 12 and a male connector (DVI-D connector 4a) for digital signals on the other end side. Pins of the male connector 4a other than auxiliary pins and the corresponding pins of the male connector 3a are connected together and the analog signal pins of the male connector 3a and the spare pins of the male connector 4a are connected together. When the image display device 5' which can accept two kinds of video signals is connected to digital/analog video signal output equipment 1, the signal cable 11 is connected as shown in Fig. 5 (a) and when the device is connected to digital video signal output equipment 2, the signal cable 11 is connected in the reverse direction as shown in Fig. 5 (b). Thus, this one signal cable 11 is used to connect two kinds of video signal output devices 1 and 2.
