PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an electro-optical device by which electrolytic corrosion of wires on an extended part of a substrate can be completely prevented. SOLUTION: The electro-optic device 1 produced by this method is equipped with a pair of substrates 4a, 4b laminated by a sealing material 7, each substrate having an extended part 4c, 4d where wires 15a, 15b are formed, respectively. The method includes a process of sticking polarizing plates 6a, 6b to the surfaces of the substrates 4a, 4b, and a process of applying silicon molds 29a, 29b to cover the wires 15a, 15b on the surfaces of the extended parts 4c, 4d, respectively. The process of applying the silicon molds 29a, 29b is carried out prior to the sticking process of polarizing plates. Thereby, contaminant is prevented from remaining on the wires 15a, 15b.
