PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assemblability by easily and reliably assembling a front face cover to a cartridge main body. SOLUTION: This tape cartridge is provided with a cartridge main body 5 having a pair of an upper shell 6 and a lower shell 7, and a front surface cover 11 having a rotary spindle 22 supported rotatably by this main body 5 and provided for opening and closing the front face part of the main body 5. At the upper shell 6, a bearing part 27 having an opening end part 31 whose opening size is smaller than the diameter of the spindle 22 is formed. Further, at the spindle 22, a small diameter part 30 having a diameter nearly equal to or smaller than the opening size of the part 31 to be inserted to the part 27 and at its tip part, a flange part 32 for preventing the spindle 22 from coming off from the part 27 is formed. Then, an inserting notch part 34 notched in parallel to the inserting direction of the spindle 22 to the part 31 of the part 27 is formed at the outer peripheral part of the part 32.
