PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin returning device which enables a user to receive change at a time, improves the inconvenience of scraping coins out and dropping the coins and is also hygienic. SOLUTION: 1st and 2nd storage members 103 and 107 are mutually in close contact to form a storeroom 109 where the coins C are stored. When a hand is inserted into a coin return box 111 under the storeroom, a photocoupler 117 senses the hand and a controlling part operates an actuator. The member 107 turns around a rotary shaft 113 as the center and is separated from the member 103 to drop change stored in the storeroom 109 onto the hand of the user.
