PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharging lamp lighting apparatus with a simple structure that levels voltage rise during preheating and starting. SOLUTION: It comprises a filter condenser 9 for filtering output of a rectifier 3 full-wave rectifying the power 1, switching apparatus 11, 12 arranged to output terminals of the filer capacitor and connected in series with each other, controlling circuits 13, 16 for alternatively turning on and off the switching units, converting the smoothing condenser voltage into high frequency voltage and generating the high frequency voltage from the connection part of the switching apparatus, a first resonance circuit connected to the output of the rectifier and consisting of a first coil 4 and a first condenser 5, a first diode 10 separating the rectifier from the smoothing condenser, a second diode 8 connected in parallel to the first condenser, a second resonance circuit connected to the connection part of the switching apparatus and consisting of a second coil 15 and a second condenser 7, a load circuit 6 connected between the first resonance circuit and the second resonance circuit, and a resonance frequency suppressing means for suppressing the resonance frequency of the first resonance circuit. |
