摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can improve the balance of the luminance of a composite type liquid crystal display unit. SOLUTION: A cathode ray fluorescent lamp 1 is disposed within a casing 2 and a light diffusion plate 3 is mounted in a light projection opening 2a of the casing 2. The liquid crystal display unit 4, which is segmented and formed with a dot printing part 3c provided with a dot printing part 3e and a flat part 3d not provided with the dot printing part 3e on a light incident surface 3a of the light diffusion plate 3 and is formed with a dot matrix display part 4a and a segment display part 4b in such a manner that the dot matrix display part 4a is disposed in the region corresponding to the dot printing part 3c is disposed on the light exit surface 3b side of the light diffusion plate 3. The liquid crystal display device which is small in the contrast between the dot matrix display part 4a having the required uniformity of illuminance and the segment display part 4b may be obtained. In addition, the light diffusion plate 3 which may be easily manufactured may be obtained.
