PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of efficiency of a device due to mixing of the vapor of contamination, such as moisture, carbon dioxide or the like which is existing in an operating space, into operating gas. SOLUTION: A refrigerating device is provided with an operating chamber, receiving a displacer 6 including a cold storage material 14 in an expansion cylinder 2 so as to be reciprocal, and a driving chamber 12, receiving a driving mechanism 5 for reciprocating the displacer 6, to reciprocate the displacer 6 in the expansion cylinder 2 and generate cold heat by the expansion stroke of the operating gas in the operating chamber. In such a refrigerating device, a sealed vessel 32, communicated with the operating chamber, and a trapping member 33, provided in the lower area of the inside of the sealed vessel 32 to trap impurities in the space of the operating chamber, are provided while the sealed vessel 32 is arranged in an area, lower than the area of a space for the operating chamber.
