Adapter device comprises a platform (10) that receives printed sheets that are to be folded and or put in an envelope. The adapter device can be connected to a folder-inserter device to this end. The adapter (16) integrates with and supports a digital printer so that it is spatially positioned so that the printer outputs align with the inputs to the folder-inserter.
