<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hybrid catalytic combustor 50 comprising a combustion catalytic section 11 for combusting a part of fuel gas through contact oxidation and a gas phase combusting section 12 in which generation of NOx, unburnt hydrocarbon and CO is suppressed by making a transition smoothly to steady combustion, durability is enhanced by preventing temperature rise of a catalyst and combustion is stabilized even under a state where the quantity of fuel is varied depending on the combustion load. SOLUTION: At the time of starting combustion, an initial power is imparted to a combustion gas proportional control valve 2 and an air fan 1 such that a mixture gas having an air ratio sufficient for firing gas phase is obtained while operating an igniter 23 and the mixture gas is fired at a gas phase combusting section 12. Subsequently, the target output value of a temperature sensor 21 is provided in two stages and power of the air fan 1 is increased according to a functional relation between the output value from a temperature sensor and the power of the air fan different at each stage until steady combustion is reached.</p> |
