PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip-type solid electrolytic capacitor which can prevent occurrence of failures at connecting of the capacitor to a printed board, etc., and can be reduced in size and increased in capacitance. SOLUTION: A chip-type solid electrolytic capacitor 19 is constituted by coating a capacitor element 9, from which a lead wire 2 for anode is led out and which carries a cathode layer 8 formed on its peripheral surface, an anode terminal 10 connected to the lead wire 2, and a cathode terminal 16 connected to the cathode layer 8 with external facing 13. In the capacitor 19, the terminals 10 and 16 are exposed only on the bottom of the facing 13, and at the same time, a notch or a hole filled with the insulating resin forming the facing 13 is provided at, at least, one exposing section 11.
