PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the superheat of the upper parts of water tubes even when an amount of supply of exhaust gas is low and boiler water is insufficiently boiled up in a one-through type exhaust gas boiler. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas boiler comprises an exhaust gas boiler body 4 provided with many vertical water tubes 3, an exhaust boiler inlet duct 5, and an exhaust gas supply duct 10. The exhaust gas boiler inlet duct 5 is provided with a partition plate 7 for dividing a passage into an upper passage 9 for feeding exhaust gas to the upper side of the exhaust gas boiler body 4, and a lower passage 8 for feeding the exhaust gas to the lower side of the exhaust gas boiler body. An exhaust gas damper 12 is provided for decreasing an amount of exhaust gas supplied to the upper passage, so that the ratio of an amount of exhaust gas supplied to the upper passage 9 relative to that supplied to the exhaust gas boiler body is smaller when the amount of supply of exhaust gas to the exhaust gal boiler is decreased than that when it is not decreased.
