PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image exposure device by which a photomixing by a prism is executed without the loss of a light quantity, the constitution of a driving circuit and timing control are facilitated and a color slippage is not caused even though an irregularity is caused in carrying speed. SOLUTION: Since first light and second light have wavelengths which are most separate a in wave tength among three kinds of the light, the first light is transmitted to the side of a second transparent member by a first wavelength selective optical member 24d formed so as to be held between a first transparent member 24A and the second transparent member 24B, and in the case of reflecting the second light in the same direction as that of the first light transmitted through the first wavelength selective optical member, the characteristics of sufficient transmission and reflection are obtained even though the polarizing surfaces of the firs light and the second light are not aligned. Also, since the second wavelength selective optical member 24e is formed at the boundary of the second transparent member 24B with air, the characteristics of sufficient reflection and transmission are obtained, and the first light and the second light are transmitted, and also even in the case of reflecting third light, the characteristics of the sufficient transmission and reflection are obtained even though the polarizing surface of light is not aligned.
