PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which is provided with a high- performance power source circuit for driving liquid crystal with which the optimum contrast can be obtained without performing a manual adjustment. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a simple matrix type liquid crystal display panel and a power source circuit displayingly driving the display panel by applying a liquid crystal driving voltage to the display panel with a voltage averaging method or an Alt Pleshko method and, moreover, has a device construction in which a DC to DC converter converting a frame signal into the liquid crystal driving voltage is formed and further-more, a control means controlling the liquid crystal driving voltage in accordance with the frequency of the frame signal is provided in the DC to DC converter.
