PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To project a picture, of which the focal plane coincides with an object surface, on a monitor TV independently of the photographing direction of a camera unit when adjusting tilt. SOLUTION: The TV interphone device is provided with a tilt mechanism 1 which drives a vertically driven stepping motor 1M by a control signal of a control circuit 91 in accordance with an operation signal from a manual operator 92 of a tilt operation part 9 to adjust the tilt angle of a camera unit 1U of an entrance slave machine D with respect to the object while monitoring the object picked up the camera unit 1U on a monitor TV 13 of a master machine M. The camera unit is provided with an image pickup lens 1L which forms an optical axis O of image pickup to take in the image of the object, an image pickup device 1E which picks up the image from the image pickup lens, and a stepping motor 1M which makes the focal plane coincide with the object surface by not only controlling the tilt mechanism by the control of the control circuit but also performing such tilt and swing correction that the angle to the optical axis of image pickup of the image pickup device may be a swing angle corresponding to the tilt angle.
