PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that a user is apt to be confused because of the difference in reproducing operations between only moving pictures, only still pictures, and mixture of moving pictures and still pictures with respect to an optical disk where moving pictures and still pictures can be recorded. SOLUTION: Type information which distinguishes only moving pictures, only still pictures, and mixture of moving pictures and still pictures and text information which simply explains it are held as management information in each reproducing route of the optical disk in accordance with video/sound information included in the reproducing route. Since the user immediately finds the type when reproducing, the user can properly perform the operation.
