PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polarizing element of high accuracy. SOLUTION: This polarizing element is to be used for the optical measurement of optical components. An non-coated quartz substrate not subjected to surface treatment is used for the substrate, consisting of quartz which constitutes the polarizing element.
