An insect pest control agent containing hiba oil as an active component has been known to be effective as a control agent for wood insect pests such as termites. But hiba neutral oil which is a residue obtained by removing acid oil containing hinokitiol from hiba oil had not been known to hava a control effect on wood insect pests such as termites. In the present invention, a medicine containing at least one kind of hiba neutral oil, hinoki oil, and parahydroxybenzoate as an active component is used as a wood preservative.
