PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor device which can measure the concentration of a gas quickly and in which the life of a gas sensor can be ensured to be long and to provide a starting method for a gas sensor by using the gas sensor device. SOLUTION: In this gas sensor device, the concentration of a gas is measured on the basis of the value of a current which flows across a pair of electrodes 18, 20 which are immersed in an electrolytic solution 16, The measuring device is provided with a voltage source 22 which applies a voltage across the pair of electrodes. The sensor device is provided with a changeover means 40 which short-circuits or opens the pair of electrodes. The sensor device is provided with a control means 26 which controls the changeover means so as to be interlocked with a power supply 28 supplied to the voltage source and by which a state that the pair of electrodes are short-circuited is changed over to a state that the pair of electrodes are opened after the voltage to be output from the voltage source is stabilized. |
