PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform good signal reproducing even from a magnetic recording medium 2 having the magnetic signal of low resolution. SOLUTION: This magneto-resistance effect type head is provided with a yoke member 1f for converging a magnetic field generated from a magnetic recording medium 2, and guiding the converged magnetic field to the vicinity of a magneto-resistance pattern 1c, and the detection of a magnetic signal on the magnetic recording medium 2 is carried out with high resolution.
