摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device allowing an optimal voltage independent of a gate-off voltage value to be applied to a liquid crystal when restoring a defective pixel of an active matrix type LCD in which a TFT is formed as a switching element in each pixel area, and to provide a pixel defect restoring method. SOLUTION: A plurality of pixel areas arranged in a matrix from are demarcated by a plurality of gate bus lines 4 formed on an array substrate 1 ad a plurality of data bus lines 6 crossing the lines 4 at right angles. A TFT 8 and a pixel electrode 10 connected therewith are formed in each pixel area. Under an insulating film formed under the pixel electrode 10, there is formed a capacity electrode 22 for defect restoration for forming an auxiliary capacity with the pixel electrode 10 and the insulating film when a black spot mark 24 is irradiated wit laser light and connected with a gate bus line 4.</p>
