PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easily changeable the inclination adjusting direction and the adjusting width of a lens block. SOLUTION: In the image reader which possesses a pair of lens block supporting bodies 25 supporting the lens block 10 and attached to a pair of traveling body supporting rails 24, spacers 34 are selectively inserted between the pair of the traveling body supporting rails 24 and the pair of the lens block supporting bodies 25, and the spacer 34 is selectively inserted between the pair of the lens block supporting bodies 25 and the lens block 10, so that the inclination of the block 10 against the scanning surface of a traveling body is adjusted. Thus, the number of the insertion places of the spacers is increased for each side on which the pair of the traveling body supporting rails 24 is arrayed, so that the inclination adjusting direction and the adjusting width of the lens block can be easily changed selecting he combination of the insertion places of the spacers.
